The raised platform also serves as the perfect wash board for your wash mitt or wash pad, keeping dirt from being reapplied onto your vehicle. The grit guard works by separating dirt from your wash mitt and trapping these particles at the bottom of the bucket into four quadrants. Liquid X recommends the full 2 bucket wash system to properly wash your car without leaving scratches or swirls. Adding a grit guard to each bucket guarantees the chances of scratching your car are slim to none.
